A good nights rest can give you much needed perspective after an emotional day! Don’t be flexible when it comes to sleeping! Both you and your kids need it. Send that email response in the morning and discuss the terms for disciplining your children after you’ve all had breakfast!
God speaks to us all the time, so remember to have a conversation with him daily. God showed up so many times in my day, reminding me that he makes all dreams come true and listens to my prayers. He showed up with the exciting news of my husbands next project, in the strength and calm I experienced trying to put my overtired toddler down for a nap and just now in feeding and putting my precious new little baby back to sleep after a feed. The Realisation that these moments are precious and should be appreciated as once in a lifetime moments is a gift from God.
When you can see and appreciate every challenging and easy experience as something great – you remain open to learning a lesson, to growing as a person and the seeing God do amazing things in your life!!
Single parents especially need to remember this!! Doing long distance with two kids can be really hard and lonely. But… If you do it with God your tears won’t be your own and they will be rare and far between.
So here is to sleep, to God’s love and to never being lonely in your walk as a parent and an authentic leader.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will direct your paths.
